FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Why Use Our Furniture Assemblers?

Flat-pack furniture is designed for easy assembly. However, there are many barriers that can put this 'simple' exercise beyond many:

n        Good Spatial Awareness – Naturally instructions are far better now than they have ever been, but you still need to be able to visualise the end product or else you will find your patience being tested.

n        Patience – Sooner or later you may assemble some of the pieces wrong. You need patience to undo your work to start again and not get frustrated by feeling foolish!

n        Physical Size & Ability - Height is a definite advantage when assembling wardrobes, as is a degree of physical strength and fitness.

n        Pride - This is essential to completing the job properly, fitting all the aesthetic lugs and making the finished item look good.

We have found that with the change in lifestyle and longer working hours, many people would rather enjoy their free time and have someone else assemble their furniture to a high standard. This is our niche!

How Does Your Personal Shopper Service Work?
We take your order over the phone or via our website. We visit your choice-of-store and buy the goods on your behalf, and arrange a 'delivery and assembly' service at an agreed time. We collect payment for the furniture bought, personal shopper, delivery and assembly services.

When Do You Deliver?
For personal shopper services, we deliver Monday to Friday – 9am to 7pm, and Saturday to Sunday – 9am to 5pm.

How Soon Can You Deliver?

Please allow at least 72-hours (3-days) providing the items are available within the selected store.

What If I Want A Same Day Priority Service?

Subject to our availability at the time of your request, we may agree to perform a same day service at a higher hourly charge rate. Please CONTACT US to discuss your needs and make a special arrangement.

What Areas Do You Cover?
We are often asked to travel outside the Sydney metropolitan regions and in most cases we do. If your area is not within the COVERAGE MAP provided, please CONTACT US to make a special arrangement.

What If I Live In A Multi-Storey Building?
For personal shopper services only, we will carry your furniture to the place where you require it. When ordering our service, please let the operator know that your site may have difficult access so we can arrange extra assistance as needed.

Can I Pay By Credit / Debit?
Yes. Some of our staff carries a MobiPOS facility. Cheque and bank transfers are also accepted at our firm’s discretion.

What Happens If The Article Is Out Of Stock?
If you have specified an alternative choice, then we will purchase that. If not, we will notify you and endeavour to fulfil your order as soon as possible. We visit several different stores each week so we should be able to help you very quickly.

I Bought Some Furniture Myself, Will You Build It?
Of course we will, even if you're half way through a job or just need an extra hand to finish it.

Is It Just Flat-pack Furniture That You Build?
No. We assemble all types of home, store, office and outdoor furniture and equipment from a variety of suppliers. We can also offer fully licensed trade services should it be required.

I'm At Work Most Days. Can You Assemble After Hours?

This is our niche! We specialise in working out of hours and weekends when most people prefer the work to be carried out so as to not interrupt their work commitments. We provide this flexible service at normal hourly rates and always endeavour to assemble your items at a time that is mutually convenient.

How Much Room Do You Need To Assemble Furniture?

That depends on the size of the item being assembled. Small items such as bedside cabinets and small chests can usually be assembled in a fairly small area and usually you won't need to clear any space for these items.

On the other hand large items like wardrobes generally need to be part assembled on their backs and lifted up to their normal position when nearing completion. In these circumstances you may need to consider clearing part of a room to make the necessary free space.

You will normally need a flat area such as the floor that is the size of the finished furniture laid on its back plus a working area of at least 600mm (else 2 ft). The area should be as close as possible to the final position of the finished item.

How Long Will It Take To Build The Furniture?

The time to build your furniture will depend on how complicated it is. With our vast experience, we have a good concept of the typical time it will take and can give you a reasonable estimate over the phone. We do not provide fixed quotes for any work as from time to time, we are requested to carry boxes into the house, relocate heavy furniture to make a clear space, and work in confined areas.

Can You Dismantle And Remove My Old Furniture?

We can easily dismantle your old furniture for you so you can relocate it or dispose of it yourself. Please note that furniture that has glued joints can be damaged during the dismantling process.

What Happens If There Are Damaged Parts?

Before requesting our services, please inspect cardboard packaging for evidence of mishandling or damaged panels. In the event that we arrive on site and identify damaged parts that prevent us from completing the assembly, a minimum ‘call out’ fee of $60 may be incurred.

What Happens If There Are Missing Parts?

Whilst assembling your furniture, we inspect it to make sure that all the necessary screws and fittings are included. In the event that there are missing parts, we will draw your attention to it. In most circumstances, we may be able to resolve the matter promptly from our spare parts kit. Alternatively, you may request us to obtain them for you for an additional fee.

Do I Need To Provide Any Tools For You To Build My Furniture?

No. We have everything that will be required to assemble your furniture, and with most flat-packed furniture, some basic tools are usually packaged within.

Can You Fix Shelves And Cabinets To Walls?

Yes. We carry a variety of fasteners for a variety of floor, wall and ceiling structures. The cost of providing skilled labour and required fasteners is provided at an additional charge.

Will You Remove Shoes On Carpeted Areas?

No. Due to personal safety reasons, we must wear protective shoes at all times. If you are concerned about keeping your carpet clean, please lay down protective sheets or rugs before our arrival. On rainy days, we suggest an old bath mat be provided for us to wipe our shoes upon before entering the premise.

Do You Remove Cardboard Packaging?

We leave cardboard packaging in a tidy manner for recycle waste collection by your local council. However, should you prefer the packaging to be removed by our assembler, for whatever reason, we can do this for an additional fee starting from $20. Please note that waste recyclers do not accept plastic wrapping or polystyrene packaging and shall need to be disposed of by you.
